Connect Your Wallet
How SOCI4L connects to your Avalanche wallet and opens a session.
Connecting your wallet is the first step to using SOCI4L. Once connected, SOCI4L can recognise you, create or load your profile, and open the dashboard tied to your address.
Supported wallets
SOCI4L uses standard Web3 wallet connectors so you can use the tools you already have installed. On compatible browsers you will typically see:
- Browser extensions such as Core, MetaMask or other EVM wallets configured for Avalanche C‑Chain.
- Injected wallets on mobile when using an in‑app browser.
The exact list of connectors may evolve over time, but the principle stays the same: SOCI4L never holds your private keys and only asks your wallet to sign messages or transactions.
What happens when you connect
When you click Connect Wallet in the header or dashboard:
- Your browser opens a standard wallet selection / permission prompt.
- After you approve, SOCI4L reads your public address and checks whether there is already a profile for it.
- A short, human‑readable sign‑in message may be presented for you to sign. This message:
- Confirms you own the wallet you are connecting with.
- Does not move funds or interact with smart contracts.
- Once the signature is verified, SOCI4L creates a secure session that links your browser to your wallet address.
If no profile exists yet, the next step is the Claim Your Profile flow.
Network and errors
SOCI4L is built for Avalanche C‑Chain. If your wallet is on a different network:
- You may see a warning asking you to switch to Avalanche C‑Chain.
- Some actions (such as on‑chain payments) will be blocked until the network matches.
Typical connection issues and how to fix them:
- Wallet not detected – make sure your extension is installed and enabled for the current site.
- Connection rejected – if you decline the browser prompt, you can always click Connect Wallet again later.
- Wrong network – use your wallet’s network switcher to select Avalanche C‑Chain, then retry.
Security notes
- SOCI4L never asks for your private key or seed phrase.
- Read‑only actions (browsing profiles and public pages) do not require a wallet connection.
- You only need to connect when you want to manage your own profile, dashboard or paid features.
